I went to Samorin, Slovakia where there was a CSI4* and CSI2* show at the same weekend. This is a fairly new place - it was amazing. All horses had big, nice, permanent boxes, and the indoor arena was huge! The warm-up ring as well. They also have outdoor competitions there, so the outdoor facilities are outstanding. There are giant outdoor arenas, both sand and grass. about 5 longing-circles and a racetrack with great surface that goes around the whole area. The hotel is also walking distance from the showground and it offers a great fitness-gym and swimming pool with spa. So when family or sponsors come to visit they can also have a nice time. My father came to see me during the show and we had a good time.
Overall, my horses were jumping good. Unfortunately I had one down with Indi in the big class on Saturday, and with Lugano I had two down in the 1.60 Grand Prix on Sunday. Because the show has so good facilities, all the best riders in the world are coming there to ride, such as for example the former world champion Jeroen Dubbeldam and his whole team. In the Grand Prix there were only 7 clear rounds, even though all the best riders in the world were there with their best horses. I hope I will come back there next year for the outdoor competitions.
Munich Indoors - DKB Riders Tour Final
Munich is the final show of the DKB-Riders Tour series. We went there with the whole team from Stall Meyer-Zimmermann. The show was held in the Olympiahalle München, which was a cool arena to ride in with a good atmosphere. Everything was pretty far away, such as the stables, hotel and trucks, but I must say that it was top organized from the engarde-team, with shuttles driving everyone where they wanted to go.
Since this was the final of the Riders Tour it was a very exiting show. I was placed in the World Ranking Class on Friday and could collect a few more world ranking points, which was one of my goals for the weekend. I also qualified for the Grand Prix, which was the next goal. In the Grand Prix I unfortunately had two down, but my horse jumped super. There were not so many clear rounds. The course designer made it very difficult because of the strong field of riders who were there, and also to make the final of the Riders Tour count. It was very cool to watch it to the end as Janne still was in the top three in the overall ranking. She ended as number two and the atmosphere was awesome!! A really cool end to the show!
