The first show of the year was as usual CSI2* Neustadt-Dosse. The show is located outside of Berlin. A lot of riders use this show to get a good start after the Christmas holidays. The show is very well organized, the arena is big and the footing is of good quality. I brought 4 horses to the show – Evita and Charly for the youngster-classes and Indi and Lugano for the 2* classes.
All the horses did very well. It is really nice that I could bring two youngsters since it is good practice for them to compete in an arena like that. It is pretty challenging for them to deal with all the new surroundings. Evita has not so much experience on international level, but she behaved good and showed a lot of quality and potential so I am excited to see how she will develop. For Charly this was the second time in Neustadt-Dosse, he has more routine on this level. Already last year he was placed in the youngster-final – which he was again this year.
Indi and Lugano also had a good show. On Friday Indi was placed in the Big Tour, but in the Grand Prix we unfortunately had the second last jump down. Last year I was placed with Lugano in the Grand Prix with one timefault – this year I was very good in the time but then one down. It was as always a very good atmosphere in the arena, the tribune was full of spectators and they were cheering for every rider. So really a fun show to compete at!
