It is always such a good feeling to get started with the outdoor season. This year I did my first outdoor show in Kronenberg, The Netherlands. I went with 4 horses to compete at CSI3* Kronenberg. I have been there several times for the inddor show, but this was the first time I competed outdoor there. I know the place so I know that it is well organized and great facilities for the horses and riders.
The grass ring
I think the horses were really happy to get started outside as well, they were all jumping great.
Ibrahim was jumping double clear in the 6 year old Final and got 6th place, and Evita was also jumping double clear in the Final for the 7 year old horses. It was pretty challenging for the young horses because the first two days they were jumping in the sand arena, but in the Final they were jumping in the grass ring. I think that is a great experience for the horses to jump in different arenas. And I am proud that both my young horses did so well in the Final jumping clear in the first round and in the jump-off as well.
My two older horses Indi and Lugano also did a great job at the show. With Lugano I had one timefault in the 1.st Grand Prix Qualifier and with Indi I also had a timefault in the 2.nd Grand Prix Qualifier. So I need to work on my time... I decided to ride Indi in the Grand Prix, which was a tough 1.55m Grand Prix. There were a lot of good riders at the show so they made the class pretty difficult, only 7 clear rounds out of 60 riders. Indi was jumping great, but unfortunately I had two down towards the end of the course - but I had no timefault this time. Overall we had a great start in the outdoor season and I am very much looking forward to the next shows that are coming up.
